My partner this year was the loveley Annica Larsson from the Åland Islands (Finland). She makes very nice beads as you can see on her blog. Annica sent me a very gorgeous soup. If you can't remember you can see it here. Thank you, Annica, this was a really great time!
Ok, I hope you are nosey: let's take a look what I did with my soup. Annica sent me two pieces with antique silver: the focal and the clasp. I separated these pieces from the other and made a necklace. I combined it with some violet dyed lava bicones, tiny silver beads and my own glass beads. For the necklace I made freehand disks and two hollow beads. The clasp I placed assymetric on the side of the necklace. So it can be seen if the necklace is worn. I decided not to use the tiny little holes in the focal because I hadn't a great idea for this.
Snakestone Necklace - Ammonitenkette |
The colors of Annicas ceramic beads remembered me to an autumn forest. And they are crying for a combination with copper wire. The second piece I made was a bracelet with a big turquoise bead and a headpin from the soup. Do you see the rustic pearl? She's from Lesley from my last years Bead Soup. Thank you again, Lesley.
Little bracelet - Kleines Armband |
Annica sent me so many nice ceramic beads and so I wanted to make a necklace with these beads and copper wire. I'm really not familiar with wire work but leaving the comfort zone this is great intention of this event. And so I did it.
Wirework Necklace - Wireworkkette |
I have many more beads from Annica. I think I will make some more pieces in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
The Bead Soup Blog Party was once again a wonderful travel for me. Thank you all for the companionship.
Bleibt also gespannt!
