Bead Soup Blog Party Reveal Day

Welcome everybody to the reveal day of the Bead Soup Blog Party - Bead Hoarders Edition.  First of all I want to thank Lori Anderson and her team for the organisation of this wonderful event. Once more a great job has been done.

My partner this year was Noemi Baena from Spain. She jumped in as I haven't got any reaction from my original partner. Noemi makes kilnfired enamels and creates jewellery. She sent me a collection of very nice beads, most of them were tiny. This was my challenge this time, normally I work with bigger pieces.

Bead Soup from Noemi - das hat Noemi mir geschickt

Ok, I hope you are courios: let's take a look what I did with my soup. Noemi sent me some pieces of her work. Immediately I knew. the two discs with red-brown enamel should become earrings. I gave the copper a little bit more structure and I really like the effect.

Earrings with Noemis enamels - Ohrringe mit Noemis emaillierten Scheiben

Noemi's kilnfired pieces reminded me that it is possible to make torchfired enameled copper pieces. And I made some daisies with enamels and selfmade murrine. I created the bracelet.combining all the enameled pieces with some colourful beads from the soup.

Bracelet with Daisies - Blümchenarmband

The bead soup contains a lampworked focal bead. Noemi wrote she had never done anything with it, beause the bead is so pretty by itself. I agree. And so I took a little bit silver and made a pendant. This wasn't much of a challenge, as I do this with my glassbeads all the time.

Thank you again, Noemi, for this wonderful soup. I have had so much fun with it. It was the first time I did torchfired enamels. That's really fun! I think I will do it again.

The Bead Soup Blog Party was once again a wonderful journey for me. Thank you to all of you who went along with me.

Colors! It's springtime!

Here you can see the other participants of the Bead Soup Blog Party this year. Please take a look to some of these blogs. Have a lot of fun!

  9. Hi Silke You did a great job with your swap beads. The bracelet looks fun and summery. The earrings and pendant will go well together. Kudos to you for doing torch enamel for the first time. It turned out very well.

  10. The simplicity of the necklace and earrings are just what those pieces needed, and they could easily be worn as a set. What blows me away is that you made your own torch fired enamel pieces to mix with your soup beads for the bracelet. And then I read it was your first time trying that technique! Wow! That inspires me to give it a try soon.

  12. I love the bracelet and they go well with the earrings. Sometimes it is best to let the bead speak for itself, so a simple, elegant necklace is best.

  18. I like all of your pieces and how you chose to let the beads stand out themselves. I also really like your earwires and clasp on the bracelet - you're inspiring me to make my own findings! I love the spring time of your bracelet as well. Everything is very cheerful and colorful.

  19. Oh, the pieces you created are all so wonderful. I especially like that bracelet. I have a thing for daisies and your handmade ones are so awesome.

  20. Those daisies are rocking! I love them! I also agree about beautiful beads not needing much other than a chain. I think that's why we hoard them and aren't sure what to do with them.

It's so great to have you participating! Thank you!
